COME FLY WITH US!
GEM members are volunteers at the St. Louis Science Center! On the fourth Saturday of each month, we gather in the Flight Experience room in the Planetarium building to introduce kids and adults to the fun of flying Cessna 172 aircraft. Using flight simulator stations, new and experienced pilots learn how airplanes fly. And in our room, it's legal to fly through the arch! We are there from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Stop by and fly with us. AND it's free!!!
On the third Saturday of each September, the Gateway Eagles organize a Youth Aviation Day. Youth from 8 to 17 are presented an immersion into the world of aviation with learning activities, aviation, aircraft exhibits and the opportunity to fly with GEM pilots. We are now planning for Youth Aviation Day 2022 to be held on September 17, 2022. For more information, please Contact Us. |

WHO WE ARE
The Gateway Eagles of Missouri (GEM) is a family oriented non-profit organization focused on broadening opportunities for American youth in the world of aviation through classes, seminars, mentoring and providing a "first flight" experience.
GEM was chartered in August, 1993 in affiliation with the Negro Airmen International organization and since has broadened its scope with other aviation organizations in order to better meet the needs of the total St. Louis area community. Today GEM is an affiliate of the Black Pilots of America (BPA) organization as the Lewis "Lew" Lynch Chapter. We're a group of pilots, family and friends who want to share the excitement, adventure and endless possibilities of flight. |
